MSC SEASHORE INAUGURAL CRUISE

Updated: Feb 25, 2022

Being invited to the inaugural event for MSC Cruise’s new Seashore ship was a PINCH ME MOMENT. Not only do I LOVE cruises, but this was my first time being on an MSC Ship, I was going to my first ever private island, and they INVITED ME TO COME to their inaugural event! How cool is that?! Below I’m sharing everything we did, covid protocols, ALL THE PICS, and a fun little recap video :)

COVID 19 PRECAUTIONS:

Everyone on the ship had to be vaccinated, as well as provide a negative covid test within 2 days of embarking! Everyone also wore masks around the ship to provide an extra level of safety. I felt SO extremely safe and loved that MSC took every possible precaution.

THE SHIP:

WOW WOW WOW! The MSC Seashore cruise ship was an absolute dream!!! It is NYC inspired, and so elegant! From the sparkly staircases, to the many pools, it was definitely one of the nicest ships I have been on. There were so many dining options, which we got to enjoy, and so many different bars (which we also got to enjoy) 🤪

My favorite part of the ship was probably either the Jungle Room or the infinity pool at the back of the boat! The Jungle room had a retractable roof, which would definitely come in handy for bad weather, and it also had a more tropical / laid back tiki bar which I loved! The infinity pool was just STUNNING. You could lay in your pool chair, which is in the water, AND you can just look off the back of the boat! Such a cool view and the perfect sunbathing spot in my opinion.

The entertainment on the ship was also SO great. They had a dueling piano bar, an original musical performance, silent discos, an awesome casino, a spa, and SO MUCH MORE! There was truly never a dull moment, which is one of my favorite parts of going on a cruise ship!

THE FOOD:

I felt like the food deserved it’s own section on the blog, because man oh man was it delicious! They had SO many restaurants on board; from hibachi to sushi trains, and seafood galore! They also had your typical buffet style restaurant, which had so many different options! The banana pancakes started each of my days off with a smile, and the cheesecake ended each day with the same thing 😂

THE ISLAND:

MSC has their own private island in the Bahamas called Ocean Cay Marine Reserve. The island is 64 square miles of marine reserve that MSC began restoring back in 2016, with goals to become a biodiverse and sustainable environment. So not only is it ABSOLUTELY STUNNING, but they don't have any single-use plastic on the island, it is solar-powered, and so much more. You can read more about their vision here.

Not only were we greeted by SO many people cheering for us and dancing (like I have truly never felt so special), but the island was ADORABLE! It is filled with colorful houses that the islanders live in, multiple beach spots with cozy bean bags + chairs, tons of beach bars & restaurants, a lighthouse, and so much more! They also have excursions available, which we were able to try! We decided to kayak, and unfortunately a storm was on the horizon.. so it was a bit choppy and windy & we didn’t get to do the full tour! BUT it was still just so stunning and such a fun experience.

THE NAMING CEREMONY & PARTY:

Our final night on the ship, they had the official naming ceremony for the MSC Seashore! It was such a special thing to be a part of, and everyone truly felt like family. You could tell how proud everyone was for their hard work, and to finally have their first ship DOCKED in the United States in Miami, Florida!

After they cut the ribbon and made it official, WE PARTIED THE NIGHT AWAY! There was a concert on the boat, which was so fun & then we headed back off the ship for a beach party on the island. I honestly felt like I was living my best life in this moment. Y’all know how much I love being by the water, so to have a huge DANCE PARTY ON THE BEACH, with some friends + the most fun staff, it was truly just such a blast! I could have stayed out dancing all night, but sadly the beach party ended around 1 am… But luckily there was pizza waiting when we got back on the ship ;) 24/7 food is the best, am I right?

FINAL TAKEAWAY:

If you have never been on a cruise before, I can not recommend them enough! Not only is everything pre-paid for, but there is SO much to do on the boat, you get to explore amazing islands + do off shore excursions, and the people truly make your experience so wonderful. The MSC Seashore ship was honestly such a dream and so elegant; and if you have the opportunity to embark on one…. DO IT!! And invite me please ;) You can check out future cruises here!

Like always, feel free to email or DM me if you have any questions! BON VOYGE!! :)
